The official Square Enix installer supplies the game, PlayOnline Viewer, and its offered DirectX component. The KrispyXI Launcher adds the private-server connection and compatibility layer when it becomes available.

Square Enix provides the complete client as five files. Keep them in the same folder, run part 1 to extract, then run FFXISetup.exe and select every component on a first install.

The complete setup

Five clear steps to the first login.

Follow this order so the official client is fully installed and updated before the KrispyXI connection profile is added.

  1. 01

    Install FINAL FANTASY XI

    Download all five official Windows client files into one folder, extract part 1, and install every component.

  2. 02

    Finish the official update

    Open PlayOnline Viewer once and allow the game data to finish updating before adding a private-server profile.

  3. 03

    Add the KrispyXI Launcher

    Download the launcher from this website when it becomes available. It will prepare and verify the KrispyXI connection profile.

  4. 04

    Create a KrispyXI account

    Create an account when registration is available. Your KrispyXI login must be separate from Square Enix credentials.

  5. 05

    Enter Vana'diel

    Create your character, enter the world, type !hub, and follow the Expedition Guide's short onboarding route.

Your first route

Start in the Expedition Hall.

The Hall explains each custom activity, shows what your current job can enter, and keeps its upgrade services in one place.

    Return to the Hall.
    Type !hub while alive, uncharmed, and outside combat, events, instances, or battlefields.

    Open the Expedition Compass.
    The Guide or Pathfinder shows your readiness band, missing requirements, and three useful next routes.
  3. 3
    Prepare your job.
    Use the Bronze Merchant for level-1 equipment, then ask the Field Instructor about Hunt and Dungeon rules.

    Choose the right format.
    Hunts are true solo from level 1. Trust-friendly Dungeon Gauntlets begin at level 10. Missions and professions remain parallel options.
  5. 5
    Travel when you are ready.
    The Town Warp reaches fifteen major destinations for 1 gil; your unlocked maps, home points, guides, and outposts cover the wider world.
